to make periodic reviews of the effectiveness of their technical assistance contributions made through the CEF;
to identify areas of their training and capacity development activities which could be effectively carried out through the CEF;
to recommend strategies for consideration by the SB on the development of regional TA delivery capacity;
to review the CEF program to ensure its conformity with international standards and best practice;
to assist the SB in designing CEF strategies and operations;
to foster better understanding and coordination of individual donor activities in the region;
to guide the SB in making the best use of special program initiatives and associated financing opportunities available to the region from the donor community;
to review requests from the SB for assistance and financing of the CEF;
to participate (the chairman) and report at the Annual SB meeting.
The Advisory Board is a representative body of the CEF’s donor partners. It advises the Supervisory Board and management on the guidelines of the CEF’s training program and prepares periodic assessments of CEF operations that it presents to the Supervisory Board.
The chair of the Advisory Board is Mr. Jan Willem van den Wall Bakke of the Dutch Ministry of Finance.
The 10th annual Advisory Board meeting on September 28, 2012, in Istanbul, Turkey, was held back-to back with the meeting of CEF Coordinators to ensure exchange of information, experiences, and ideas among our member countries’ institutions, partner institutions, and the CEF.
