The course has been designed for mid to senior level tax auditors. The educated principles are usable for auditing small and medium sized businesses. The participants will be from the Tax Administration or from the audit policy part of the Revenue Service.

The course is focused on executing the tax audits in small and medium sized businesses.

During the course the participants will hear about the concept of the supervision by the Dutch tax administration. The main part of the course is both educating the theory related with the audit approach and the most important audit techniques and exercising these techniques through several cases.

At the end of the course participants will:

• acquire knowledge of the concepts of supervision in the Netherlands
• acquire knowledge of the general and specific tax auditing techniques as applied in the Netherlands
• develop skills by making basic and more complicated cases, related to the treatment of the theory during the days and dependent on the experience of the participants.

Participants are expected to take an active part in the workshop activities. The success of the workshop is directly dependent on the participants’ active engagement in the discussions. Basic skills in MS Excel are advised.
