New World Bank publication on Reforming Severance Pay presented at the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF)
Ljubljana, March 2, 2012
Severance pay is the world’s most widely used but perhaps least understood cash program after employment termination. As redundancy pay, it is used as income or job protection program for the unemployed that is often blamed for creating major economic inefficiencies, e.g. with respect to its effect on labor mobility, human resource investments and productivity. On March 2 at 9:30-14:30, two former senior staff of the World Bank will present at the CEF the first ever book on the topic, filling the knowledge gap in evaluating the international experience.
