We Have Joined Forces With the Dutch Ministry of Finance to Deliver Training in Auditing

The CEF supports capacity development endeavors in its constituency countries. To this end, we work with international partners to introduce international practices and provide top-notch expertise and meaningful learning opportunities to the finance officials of SEE. The Central Government Audit Service (CGAS) of the Dutch Ministry of Finance has contributed its expertise in auditing for years, and is now helping to deliver our auditing program.

In order to ensure that each learning event is in line with the regional needs, we capture learning needs, facilitate knowledge sharing, and offer concrete case studies that are relevant to regional practice. With the help of the CGAS, we have been offering a wide range of workshops on auditing, such as audit sampling, IT auditing, and addressing fraud and corruption to name a few.

At the workshops we often make use of innovative tools and participatory activities that support knowledge sharing. The workshops facilitated by the CGAS are not based on knowledge transfer; they rather open a space to knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning, and are highly appreciated by the participants.

This partnership is mutually lucrative. The Dutch experts benefit from lecturing and exchanging practices and experiences with regional practitioners. They also receive a valuable insight into the reform progress and challenges of the countries that the Netherlands is partnering with in the constituencies at the IMF, the World Bank and the EBRD.

In 2016, we deliver three regional workshops in auditing: Maximizing the Value of Internal Audit in the Public Sector, IT Auditing, and Addressing Fraud and Corruption.
