CEF’s Support to PEMPAL in 2012

In 2012, the CEF supported a wide range of activities for the Public Expenditure Management Peer Assisted Learning network.

As secretariat for this multi-donor initiative since 2008, the CEF supports three communities of practice that focus on budget, internal audit, and treasury in 22 countries of Europe and Central Asia, as well as a steering committee for the network as a whole.

In 2012, PEMPAL brought together 434 participants from its member countries in eight regular and five smaller events in 11 countries. An additional 125 experts and speakers attended these events. Discussions addressed key topics in the network’s three practice areas of public financial management and gave participants a chance to learn from the experience of other PFM systems. Online resource materials include a virtual library and glossary of terms for practitioners.
