Delivering Public Accountants Certification Training Online for the First Time

Transparency and accuracy of accounting data and financial reports are both crucial for addressing the challenges public finances face. Public sector accountants have one of the key roles in responding to those challenges. Our goal through delivery of the Public Accountants Certification Training (PACT) is to help them apply international accounting standards and improve accountability. Knowledge and learning cannot be put on hold and we have found many ways to provide opportunities for continuous professional development also in the current circumstances.

On July 1, 2020 we organized an introductory meeting for students of PACT in North Macedonia.  During this online encounter, CEF project manager Jovana Koloski presented the curriculum of the training program and introduced the team composed of Ministry of Finance of North Macedonia representatives, tutors and CEF staff. Meeting attendees also discussed new ways of delivering training activities.

It was agreed that the PACT training will begin in September with delivery of the Financial Accounting module at the CEF Online Learning Campus. This will be the first time that we deliver PACT program online but received feedback from enrolled students at the meeting keeps us motivated to make this an exciting learning journey that will offer ample opportunities for both learning and building networks and connections among public sector accountants in North Macedonia.
