CEF at 7th International Africa Day Conference

CEF director Jana Repanšek was one of the speakers at the 7th Africa Day Conference. In the context of the session on “Africa-EU Partnership in Practise: Areas for Exchange and Cooperation in Support of Good Governance” she shared experience about capacity development in public financial management from South East Europe.

The Conference was organized by Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the framework of the Bled Strategic Forum and under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor. The purpose of the annual conference was to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation between African countries and Slovenia.

Conference was opened with an address of Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karl Erjavec. It continued with the addresses of high-level representatives of participating states and organizations. Expert policy discussions examined, among other issues, the relationship between capable and accountable institutions and sustainable growth; civic participation and gender inclusion; youth perspectives on good governance; local and community governance; global governance and standard setting; and African and European synergies and cooperation on these issues.
