Internal Auditor from Montenegro about the TIAPS Program and On the Job Training

Sonja Lojpur was a student of the first generation of the Training of Internal Auditors in the Public Sector (TIAPS) in Montenegro (2012). In 2016, she continued her learning experience with the CEF and attended the On the Job Training for certified internal auditors, which was organized for the students of all three generations of the Montenegrin TIAPS program.

My name is Sonja Lojpur and I was a student in the first generation of Training of Internal Auditors in the Public Sector. At the beginning, the training course seemed quite challenging for us, since we did not know exactly what would be ahead. As the time went on, we realized that it was a serious program and it took us a lot of effort to achieve the expected results.

As it happened, after passing the exams and receiving the certificate, I worked as an internal auditor for only one more year. Nevertheless, when the On the Job training program started, I wanted to take part in it and perform a practical audit exercise with my former colleagues. It was certainly useful and also quite fun. I had the honor of working with colleagues from the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, and we did an audit in a home for the elderly in Risno, where we found a very organized system to be in place. We were able to apply the knowledge that we had acquired in the TIAPS training, and make use of the experience and practical examples of our mentor Ms. Zdenka Vidovič.

Even though I do not currently work as an internal auditor any more, I strongly recommend the On the Job Training to other young auditors.
