Kick-off of Regional Certification Trainings

In October, we officially launched two regional certification learning programs designed to strengthen public officials’ capacities in managing forensic assignments and public sector assets. These certification trainings bring together professionals from across South East and Eastern Europe to enhance integrity, accountability, and efficiency in public financial management.

The »Managing Forensic Assignments in the Public Sector« certification program began with an online kick-off session for the first cohort of 30 public officials. During the session, participants were introduced to the program’s structure, key modules, technical setup, and timeline. They also had the opportunity to exchange views, clarify expectations, and officially begin their learning journey.

This certification program aims to strengthen participants’ forensic skills and analytical capacity in handling public sector assignments. Led by three international experts, the program will run from October to December 2025 and include four modules: Fraud Principles, Fraud in the Public Sector, Digital Forensics, and Data Analytics. The first generation of participants will conclude their journey with a final workshop and graduation ceremony in March 2026.

The »Managing Public Sector Assets« certification program highlights the importance of effective asset management for delivering quality public services. This program will consist of two intensive training weeks: the first in autumn 2025 and the second in spring 2026. The first week will include five modules focusing on governance and organization, asset management documentation, operational and non-operational property, performance measurement and data, and financial reporting.

The program is designed for senior policymakers from ministries of finance and other line ministries engaged in public sector asset management, as well as public sector managers involved in accounting reforms, asset management processes, and maintaining asset records.

Together, these two certification programs demonstrate our commitment to building transparent, accountable, and capable public institutions through high-quality, practice-oriented learning opportunities that connect international expertise with regional experience.

Both newly launched certification programs are delivered in collaboration with CIPFA and as part of Empowered Accountants and Auditors for Accountable Public Sector (EAPS) project. They are financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia through Slovenia Aid.
