Minister Dimitrieska-Kochoska Outlines Shared Vision with the CEF for Regional Progress

As North Macedonia assumes the chairing of the CEF Governing Board, we are pleased to share key insights from the new Chair, Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska. In her closing remarks at the 2025 CEF Forum titled “Empowering Institutions for Tomorrow,” the Minister emphasized the vital role of strong, learning-oriented public institutions in advancing sustainable reforms. She highlighted North Macedonia’s commitment to institutional development through the Public Finance Academy and emphasized the value of continued cooperation with the CEF in fostering regional knowledge sharing and capacity development.

"At the Ministry of Finance of North Macedonia, we view institutional development not as a side effort, but as the foundation of meaningful reform. This belief drives our ongoing investment in the Public Finance Academy—an initiative that reflects our commitment to building competencies, nurturing a culture of learning, and driving long-term transformation within the public sector.

Our cooperation with the CEF has been instrumental in this journey. Through shared initiatives, peer dialogue, and regional learning exchanges, we have seen firsthand how knowledge partnerships translate into real institutional strength. The CEF’s platform consistently reminds us that while our national reform journeys are unique, the challenges we face—and the solutions we can share—are deeply interconnected.

This year’s CEF Forum highlighted the immense value of peer learning and regional dialogue. By exchanging experiences, lessons learned, and innovations, we strengthen our institutions collectively. Organizations like CEF are instrumental in building that shared capacity and trust.

We are especially encouraged by the examples of institutions such as the CEF itself and the National Bank of Moldova, which have demonstrated how learning organizations can lead systemic change. These examples guide and inspire our efforts to shape the Public Finance Academy into a comparable driver of development.

As we take on the chairing of the CEF Governing Board, we do so with a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm. It reflects our readiness to contribute actively to the future direction of the CEF and to strengthen regional cooperation in the process. We look forward to working closely with the Board members, the CEF team, and all partners to amplify the impact of our collective efforts in building stronger, more resilient public institutions.

In North Macedonia, we are proud to stand alongside our regional peers in this journey. Through the Ministry of Finance and the Public Finance Academy, we are building the foundation for a public sector that is not only technically competent, but also visionary and transformative. Together, let us continue to champion institutional development, deepen regional cooperation, and empower the institutions that will shape the future of Europe."
