Training of Trainers: Design. Deliver. Inspire.
About this learning event
This three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) is designed to strengthen the professional capacity of trainers and lecturers at the National School of Public Administration (NSPA), Croatia. It combines insights from learning theory with practical tools to help participants design and deliver engaging, learner-centered training sessions.
The program places strong emphasis on the principles of adult learning, highlighting why teaching adults requires different approaches and strategies than traditional lecturing. Participants will learn how to assess training needs effectively and translate them into well-structured designs with clear learning objectives and outcomes. This ToT provides extensive hands-on practice in the delivery of training. Through interactive and hands-on exercises, participants will strengthen their training skills, enhance their ability to facilitate learning, present and communicate with clarity, manage group dynamics, and foster safe and inclusive learning environments.
By the end of the program, participants will not only have enhanced their confidence and competence as trainers but will also leave with a practical toolkit of methods and strategies that can be immediately applied in their teaching and training roles. In doing so, they will be well-positioned to serve as effective catalysts for impactful learning within the NSPA, Croatia, and their own institutions.
During this training, you will:
- Understand how adults learn and why trainers need to teach differently.
 - Reflect on your role as a trainer/lecturer and facilitator of learning, and how your approach influences participant engagement.
 - Conduct a training needs assessment to align sessions with learner needs and expectations.
 - Explore and apply the training cycle (analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation) as a practical framework for planning and improving training.
 - Design and prepare training sessions with clear objectives, learning outcomes, and structured activities.
 - Strengthen your presentation, communication, and feedback skills to build confidence and clarity when working with participants.
 - Learn to manage the training environment effectively, including space, time, and group dynamics.
 - Deliver training sessions with improved structure, clarity, and confidence, while applying interactive methods.

How we will work:
The training is highly interactive and participatory. It blends short expert inputs with pair and small group work, complemented by practical exercises and role plays. Participants will engage in peer learning and reflective practice, simulate training delivery with feedback, and work directly with real cases and their own training topics to ensure maximum relevance and impact.
