About this learning event

This online course strengthens the capacity of internal auditors to provide effective oversight of public sector IT projects. As governments accelerate digital transformation, auditors are increasingly expected to assess whether technology initiatives are well‑governed, strategically aligned, compliant with regulations, and resilient against cybersecurity threats.

Over two weeks, participants will engage in self‑paced study and four live, interactive webinars. The live sessions create space for discussion, clarification, and presentations from experts, while the self‑paced components allow learners to explore materials and reflect on concepts at their own rhythm. During the first webinar, participants will receive a practical assignment based on a realistic scenario. They will work on this assignment throughout the course, with guidance and touchpoints provided during subsequent webinars.

Throughout the course, learners will examine the full lifecycle of public sector IT projects, focusing on governance frameworks, project management controls, risk assessment methods, procurement and vendor oversight, regulatory compliance obligations, and cybersecurity considerations.

The course blends conceptual foundations with practical tools, case examples, and peer exchange. By the end of the course, participants will be better equipped to identify red flags, evaluate control environments, and formulate actionable recommendations that support transparent, efficient, and secure digital service delivery.
