About this learning event
At this workshop, we will explore how payment systems and financial market infrastructure are evolving, and what this means for policy, oversight, resilience, and innovation.
The program will combine experience from different institutions with forward-looking discussions on how to modernize payment ecosystems while preserving safety, interoperability and trust. We will look at how new rails and standards, including instant payments and SEPA developments, interact with new business models, regulatory change and emerging forms of digital money, including CBDCs such as the digital euro and the digital Turkish lira.
What will you learn
- Instant payments: national solutions and TIPS, interoperability challenges, and approaches to cross-border connectivity
- Open banking: how data sharing and API-based models are shaping new payment use cases, services and market structures
- Fintech solutions: innovation trends, market structure changes, and cooperation models with incumbents and authorities
- CBDCs: design and policy considerations, with updates and lessons from initiatives such as the digital euro and the digital Turkish lira
- Crypto-assets and stablecoins: implications for payments and FMI, policy and oversight perspectives
- Fraud and abuse prevention: current scam and fraud trends, controls and supervisory expectations to strengthen payment security
Who should attend
This workshop is designed primarily for central bank experts working on payment systems, payment system oversight, and financial market infrastructures. It is also relevant for colleagues from banking regulation and supervision, financial stability, digital finance and innovation teams, as well as experts working on operational resilience and payment-related fraud. Selected representatives of ministries of finance and other competent authorities with responsibilities related to payments and digital finance are also welcome.
