Partnerships for Taking Policies Towards Green Actions

Oct 15 – 16, 2025 Ljubljana, Slovenia No Fee

About this learning event

As the global urgency for sustainable development intensifies, more and more countries are adopting policies to address climate change, environmental degradation, social equity, biodiversity loss, and resource depletion. The path from policy design to impactful implementation remains fraught with challenges. Institutions should not face the challenges alone. Through partnerships, progress is not only possible but accelerated. Together, we aim to turn policy ambition into tangible, inclusive, and lasting results.

The conference will explore how integrated actions involve all relevant stakeholders – policy makers, local authorities, business, international community, civil society, and academia. We will highlight the benefits of partnerships across sectors and borders to tackle the most urgent aspects of the green transition. We will offer space for open dialogue, shared vision, and coordinated action, inspiring participants to turn policy ambitions into concrete green outcomes.

This conference will bring together policymakers, experts, practitioners, human resource and learning and development professionals, and local leaders to explore critical challenges, exchange ideas, and consider possible strategies for integrating sustainability into national policies. Attendees will gain insights into how to build institutional capacity, enhance collaboration, engage local communities, and foster sustainable development practices on the ground.

We will discuss solutions for tackling the mismatch in knowledge and skills, fragmented collaboration, and insufficient financing needed for green actions. During the two-day event, we will stress the importance of capacities within institutions that are required for effective policy implementation at the national and local levels. Strong and resilient public institutions are essential drivers of sustainable reforms, particularly when prioritizing learning at all levels. We will showcase how institutions can act from the inside out, aligning internal capacities with external policy objectives.

We will delve into practical solutions for:

  • Enhancing cross-sectoral, cross-border and intra-institutional collaboration
  • Mobilizing financial mechanisms and investment opportunities for sustainable projects
  • Exploring effective strategies for developing and implementing green policies
  • Embedding mechanisms for continuous knowledge sharing and adaptive learning
  • Exchanging best practices, various policy frameworks, and collaborative models for their implementation
  • Building institutional and human capacity for sustainable policymaking
