About this learning event

In this workshop, we will delve into the transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon economy and examine how central banks are integrating sustainability into their financial asset management and monetary policy implementation. We will look at practices from markets and monetary operations departments, with particular attention to asset management and investment strategies - including portfolio design, the use of green instruments, and experiences with tilting portfolios to support the development of sustainable capital markets.

We will also explore how central banks are adapting their market operations and collateral frameworks to reflect climate considerations, and how they employ scenario analysis, eligibility criteria, and disclosure practices to embed sustainability into daily operations. These examples will provide participants with insights into how central banks balance their traditional objectives of liquidity, safety, and return with the challenges of climate change and the demands of the green transition.
