About this learning event

This webinar will be organized as part of the 'WeLead: EU scheme for Young Professionals in the Western Balkans' project to raise awareness of the strategic development of human resources and talent retention, particularly of young public officials. Public institutions must invest in their human capital, with a specific focus on retaining talents. Strategic human resource development implies also smarter engagement of young public officials through appropriate organizational culture, learning and knowledge ecosystems that can accelerate the delivery of institutions’ mandates. To effectively address brain drain, it is critical to strengthen the human resource function by developing capabilities for effective human and institutional knowledge management. Young public officials should have a meaningful and visible role in their institutions, while public institutions should create an environment where young officials can unlock and realize their potential.

What will you learn?

This webinar will bring forward the voices of young HR professionals from the WeLead project, offering their perspective on how public institutions can better support and retain young talent. They will share how young officials perceive their role in shaping workplace culture and learning environments, and what matters most to young professionals when it comes to staying and growing in the public sector. By giving space to their experiences and ideas, the webinar will highlight the importance of creating meaningful and visible roles for young officials, in order for them to truly unlock and realize their potential. Participants will gain fresh insights and practical reflections on how to strengthen institutional capacity through youth-driven approaches to HR. The webinar will also offer space for discussion and exchange of views on the feasibility of implementing new practices and ideas shared by the speakers.
