63% of Employers Lack Adaptability - MQ Training Shows How Learning Bridge the Gap
On 5 November 2025, leaders from Slovenia’s public and private sectors gathered at the CEF for MQ Training: Collaboration as a Development Force. Co-hosted by CEF and the Managers’ Association of Slovenia, the training highlighted how collaboration, trust, and cross-sector dialogue drive innovation, growth, and organizational resilience.
The event opened a conversation featuring Jana Repanšek, CEO of CEF, Petra Juvančič, Executive Director of the Managers’ Association of Slovenia, and Mojca Ramšak Pešec, State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration. Jana Repanšek emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration: “We work on collaboration between the public and private sectors. CEF supports public sector employees to drive change. And today, we are here to hear the good stories from both sectors.” Petra Juvančič added, “At Managers’ Association of Slovenia, we are intensifying public-private cooperation with CEF. Today bridging polarities—locally and globally—is key. True power lies in what connects us.” Mojca Ramšak Pešec stressed human capital development: “Collaboration between the public and private sectors is key to a successful state. We are advancing HR development in public administration—recognizing talent and building leadership.”
Keynote Highlights the Urgency of Learning
Ajda Turk, Leadership Team Member at CEF, delivered the keynote “Learning Organizations: Why, How, and Why Now?” highlighting the urgent need for learning-driven organizations. “According to the Global Risks Report 2025, 63% of employers say their teams lack adaptability, yet companies investing in learning are 42% more profitable and 51% more likely to lead in AI. In a skills-first world, learning isn’t optional—it’s the edge that empowers talent and organizations to thrive,” she said.
Public and Private Sectors Shares Best Practices
Cross-sector dialogue continued with Andrej Šolinc, CEO of CEED Slovenia, moderating discussions on where public and private strengths intersect. Gregor Makuc, CEO of Lek d. d., noted, “Sandoz is investing €1.1B in Slovenia because we have knowledge, a strong education system, and a functioning ecosystem—the connection between public administration and business is key.” Marta Kelvišar, CEO of Adria Dom, added, “Company culture is hard to implement, but possible—systematically, through learning and leadership in soft skills.” Staša Mesec, Innovation Community Lead at Inovativen.si, reflected, “In the public sector, we can’t make revolutions—but we can make evolutions, step by step, by building on values.”
Concrete examples of learning-driven transformation were shared by Sabina Gros, BPT Group, Matjaž Florjanc Lukan, Call Center 114, and Dr. Ada Guštin Habuš, Kolibri Labs, showing how knowledge-sharing translates into measurable outcomes. The day concluded with a reflective workshop led by the CEF experts Urška Miklič, Cvetka Mozoli, and Laura Katarina Jularić, reinforcing a simple truth: change begins with people.
