CEF Reception in Washington - Celebrating Partnerships for Capacity Development in SEE
At the side of the 2019 Annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC in mid-October, where CEF was in attendance, we held a reception to celebrate capacity development in SEE. The event was organized with the kind support of the Slovenian Embassy in Washington, where it also took place.
The reception presented an opportunity for our partners, supporters and donors to meet, exchange views on the current status as well as to touch upon possibilities for cooperation in the future. The guest’s list included officials from our constituency, including ministers of finance, central bank governors, and representatives of the IMF, the World Bank Group, the US State Department, the European Commission, Slovak ministry of finance, and the embassies. They were greeted by His Excellency, Mr. Stanislav Vidovič, Slovenian ambassador to the USA, the director of the CEF, Ms. Jana Repanšek, Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Mr. Radoje Žugić, State Secretary at the Slovenian Ministry of Finance, Mr. Metod Dragonja and Deputy Director of Fiscal Affairs Department at the IMF, Mr. Gerd Schwartz.
Aside from the reception, the agenda during the stay in Washington was filled with meetings with officials from the IMF, the World Bank and PEFA Secretariat. The setting of the Annual Meetings also provided a platform for several bilateral meetings with high-level officials from ministries of finance and central banks of CEF constituency countries.
