Chair of the CEF Governing Board Visits the CEF to Deepen Collaboration

Novica Vuković, Minister of Finance of Montenegro and current Chair of the CEF Governing Board, paid a working visit to the CEF yesterday to strengthen cooperation and explore future opportunities for joint capacity development initiatives.

During his visit, Minister Vuković met with the CEF’s Steering Team, led by Director Jana Repanšek. Discussions focused on strategic planning, regional learning priorities, and preparations for the upcoming Governing Board meeting and the CEF Forum, which will be hosted in Bečići, Montenegro. Particular attention was given to the ongoing CEF-supported project in Montenegro aimed at advancing the implementation of the country's ongoing public financial management (PFM) and public administration reform (PAR) strategies.

The Minister and the CEF team also explored the specific needs and challenges currently facing the Montenegrin Ministry of Finance, and how these could be addressed through continued partnership with the CEF. »One of the main goals in my mandate is strengthening of capacity of the Ministry of Finance, at the individual, team, and organizational level. The CEF will play an important role in this regard.«

As part of the visit, Minister Vuković also met with Mateja Vraničar Erman, Chair of the CEF Advisory Board. Together, they reflected on the CEF’s strategic direction and its impact across the region. They also touched upon ways to ensure adequate resources for the CEF program in the future.

He also connected with the wider CEF team and discussed the value of partnering with donors.

To wrap up his visit, Minister Vuković had an informal meeting with his Slovenian counterpart, Minister of Finance Klemen Boštjančič, and a member of the CEF Governing Board, strengthening their professional and personal ties.
