Financial Accounting module was part of the certification training project for accountants in public sector of Montenegro. Syllabus is designed by CIPFA and project is implemented by the CEF in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro and Human Resource Management Authority in Montenegro.

How you benefited

The Financial Accounting module provided an introduction to accounting theory, ethics, bookkeeping and the preparation of financial statements, which are all fundamental to the stewardship role performed by finance professionals in modern organisations.

In-class training for Financial Accounting module were conducted in January and February 2019, followed by examination sitting in March 2019 and re-sit exam, scheduled for September 2019. Participants, who successfully finish all exams will be awarded with internationally recognized CIPFA certificate. 

What will you learn

The module set out the purpose of financial accounting, the needs of the users of accounting information, and the general regulatory framework. The student was taken through the main processes involved in financial accounting, from using ledgers to record transactions, through the use of control procedures, to the end result of preparing complete financial statements in standard formats. There was a brief coverage of a limited number of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs). The essential elements of ethics, values and attitudes as they apply to the accounting profession were introduced.

In-class training and exams are available for accountants who work in public sector of Montenegro and are enrolled in the certification training project.
