This workshop will combine theory with practice, international with regional and local aspect, giving participants insight into international practice, recommendations from the regional success stories and overview of challenges and opportunities in the local environment.

The workshop will take a look at International Public Sector Accounting Standards, putting focus on first time adoption of Accrual Accounting. Regional and international experts will present different approaches in adopting Accrual accounting, including transitioning to full Accruals and using modified approaches. The workshop will also engage participants to present their recent efforts  within Accounting Reforms, that will provide additional insights.

Participants will learn what are the requirements and benefits of accrual-based accounting and better understand usage and impact of specific international accounting standards.

The workshop targets public officials and experts responsible for Accounting and Financial Reporting, State Treasury officials and Accountants within Line ministries.

Practical Information

The workshop will be held in Ljubljana and will be delivered face-to-face. No fee will be charged for attending the workshop and meals will be provided during the event.
