Central Banking Thematic Area: Upcoming Learning Events Before Summer

In the Central Banking thematic area, we are before summer delivering webinars on Eurosystem Monetary Policy Implementation and Collateral Management and Financial Inclusion and the Role of Payment Systems, and a face-to-face workshop on Operational Issues in Consolidated, Cross-border, and Risk-based Supervision.

The first webinar on Eurosystem Monetary Policy Implementation and Collateral Management will be held on April 24, 2018. Our aim is to raise the understanding of the conduct of the monetary policy within the Eurosystem and the role of the national central banks and their monetary operations. At the webinar on Financial Inclusion and the Role of Payment Systems on June 14, 2018 we will explore how payment systems can contribute to broadening access to finance, namely in the capacity of strengthening financial inclusion. The webinar will give an introduction into the topic and short presentations of good practices, along with an overview of some regional country cases on financial inclusion. Applications to the webinars are open and possible until the day of the webinars.

On April 11 – 13, 2018, we are delivering a face-to-face workshop on Operational Issues in Consolidated, Cross-border, and Risk-based Supervision. The event is part of our efforts to support capacity development in the area of banking regulation and supervision. We will discuss in-depth investigations of risks, risk controls and governance, as well as examine lessons learned since the establishment of the Single Supervisory Mechanism. Participants will hear good practices and work on a practical exercise of conducting on-site supervision.

Additionally we are on May 9, 2018 at the Macedonian National Bank organizing a seminar Human Resource Management. The aim of this seminar is to strengthen the awareness of strategic function of human resource management and its further potentials to support institutional operations. It will serve as an input for further discussions of the CEF Coordinators Meeting on how the constituent institutions could establish their own knowledge hub capacities.
