About this learning event

Alumni members and participants of the WeLead project will be offered free access to self-paced online courses on the CEF Online Learning Campus (OLC). In this self-paced course, Strategic Communication in the Public Sector, is designed for young professionals from the Western Balkans working in public institutions who want to strengthen their communication capabilities. Effective communication, both internal and external is critical to ensuring that public institutions are transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens’ needs.

Participants will explore how public institutions can shape their messages to better align with reform agendas, promote transparency, and build trust with stakeholders. The course will guide learners in identifying the right communication channels and tools to enhance coordination within institutions and engage external audiences more effectively.

Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on developing practical communication skills, including active listening, persuasive communication, public speaking, and negotiation, to help public officials become more effective communicators and agents of change within their institutions.

During this online course, you will:

- Get a better understanding of the principles and practices of strategic communication in the public sector.
- Discuss the need for transparency, responsiveness, and trust-building through effective communication.
- Review the pros and cons of various communication tools and channels in different institutional and cultural contexts.
