WeLead: Gender Equality – Cohort 3
About this learning event
Alumni members and participants of the WeLead project will be offered free access to a self-paced online course hosted on the CEF Online Learning Campus (OLC). The self - paced will focus on one of the European Union’s core values, gender equality.
As part of the WeLead initiative, this self-paced course on gender equality is designed for young public officials from the Western Balkans interested in strengthening their capacity to apply gender-sensitive approaches in their professional environments. The course explores gender equality as a core European Union value, linking it with public administration, budgeting, finance and key areas of EU integration and reform.
The course takes a transformative and rights-based approach to gender equality. It addresses the structural causes of gender inequality by integrating perspectives of gender equity and mainstreaming. Through real-world examples, relevant EU frameworks, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to make public policies more inclusive and impactful.
During this online course, you will:
Understand the distinctions between gender equality, equity, balance, and mainstreaming
Identify structural causes of gender inequality in public institutions
Learn how to integrate gender perspectives into budgeting and financial decision-making
Explore the intersection of gender in the EU accession context
