Green Budgeting: From Policy to Practice
About this learning event
Greening national budgets is essential to advancing climate action and green transition. Most countries use green budgeting mainly as a transparency and reporting tool, not yet as a decisive factor in budget allocation.

Participants will also get an overview of how EU countries align their various green workstreams to form a coherent approach in pursuit of improved policy making.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Gain basic knowledge of the principles of green budgeting
- Learn from Western Balkan practitioners of their green budgeting experience and challenges
- Get an overview of EU countries’ approaches in aligning various green workstreams, including green budgeting
