Participatory Leadership Navigating Complexity Together
About this learning event
This workshop focuses on strengthening our capacity to lead change with others – creating clarity and alignment even when outcomes are uncertain and the path ahead is unclear. It responds to that need by focusing not only on understanding complexity but also on practicing methods that make it manageable in daily leadership work.
During the workshop, you will be introduced to Participatory Leadership as a practical approach to navigating complexity. Drawing on insights from complexity thinking, it will equip leaders with frameworks and practices that strengthen strategic planning, decision-making, and collaboration across divisions. Together, we will explore the Cynefin decision-making framework, Estuarine Mapping, the Diamond of Participation, and the Harvesting Matrix - and apply them directly to the Bank's priorities.
Through this workshop, you will:
- Deepen your understanding of how complexity shapes the Bank’s work and strategic direction.
- Learn methods for inclusive leadership and proactive decision-making in fast-changing contexts.
- Strengthen collaboration across units and divisions.
- Practice skills to lead effectively in volatility and uncertainty while maintaining institutional resilience.
- Leave with actionable strategies ready to apply in your teams and projects.
The workshop is experiential, interactive, and practical. We will work with your real challenges, using frameworks and methods that enable collaborative sense-making, inclusive decision-making, and systemic approaches. You will leave with both conceptual understanding and practical tools you can immediately apply in your leadership role.
