Get Ready for a New Season of Learning Opportunities at the CEF
As autumn approaches, we are starting an exciting new learning season filled with opportunities to strengthen skills, share experiences, and foster regional cooperation. Our learning program this fall offers a diverse mix of webinars, workshops, and certification programs designed to address pressing challenges and build professional capacity across the public sector.
Starting this October, we are launching a new certification program in forensic accounting and auditing, delivered in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). This six-month regional program will combine online learning and practical training to help public officials gain expertise in fraud detection and prevention. Modules will cover fraud principles, public sector vulnerabilities, digital forensics, and data analytics. Public officials in auditing, accounting, compliance, internal control, law enforcement, and cybersecurity are encouraged to apply.
We are kicking off the WeWrite series with its first webinar, supporting young public officials in upscaling their competencies in policy analysis, communication, and writing policy notes. The session will focus on defining the topic of policy papers, with mentees presenting their selected topics and problem descriptions. Participants will benefit from working closely with mentors, joining webinars and face-to-face meetings, and developing skills essential for change management in the public sector. This activity is part of the EU-funded multi-beneficiary project “EU Scheme for Young Professionals in the Western Balkans” (WeLead), implemented by the CEF.
We will also host a specialized workshop on tax fraud, exploring typologies, mechanisms, and strategies for combating fraudulent activities. Drawing on case studies from the Netherlands Tax Administration and the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia, participants will examine effective investigation techniques, legal frameworks, and the impact of digitalization. This workshop will provide a valuable platform for experience-sharing and strengthening regional cooperation among tax administrations.
Continuing our commitment under the EU-funded Structural Reforms Better Integrated Within Fiscal Frameworks (FISR2) project, we will organize a learning event on economic impact assessment of structural reforms. Participants will explore methodologies and tools from the Manual on Economic Impact Assessment of Structural Reform Measures in the Reform Agenda, supported by a practical spreadsheet-based Impact Assessment Tool.
