Training of Trainers: Public Finance Academy
About this learning event
This two-day capacity-building workshop is designed to strengthen the internal trainer community and enhance training practices of the Public Finance Academy of North Macedonia (PFA). Through model sessions, reflective exercises, and practical redesign activities, PFA trainers will explore the effectiveness of the internal training system, examine whether trainers are truly growing as professionals, and consider what it takes to build a sustainable ecosystem for learning and development. The agenda covers the full PFA Training Cycle, from needs assessment to annual reporting, while also delving into trainer standards, peer learning, competency frameworks, and the practical application of adult learning principles in the public sector.
Combining hands-on teamwork with structured reflection, the workshop aims to build both technical capacity and group cohesion. Participants will engage in meta-level debriefing, self-assessment, and peer consultations to identify personal development goals, concluding with a reflection session and personal commitments. This initiative is part of PFA’s broader strategy to position itself as a center of excellence for internal capacity building, offering a valuable example for institutions seeking to professionalize their own training ecosystems.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Apply adult learning principles to design and deliver more effective training
- Use the PFA Training Cycle for planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Conduct self-assessment and peer consultations for professional growth
- Contribute to a stronger, more cohesive trainer community within PFA
- Align training practices with PFA’s evolving standards and strategic goals
