Transforming Work Through Learning and Collaboration
We are pleased to share reflections from Alina Criminceanu, Legal Adviser in the Legal Department of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), on her experience in the NBM LearnOrgLab project. The program offered participants a transformative blend of knowledge, skills, and practical tools that enhanced both personal growth and professional effectiveness. It fostered a culture of trust, inclusion, and collaboration, while techniques such as “Think-Pair-Share” encouraged critical thinking, safe idea-sharing, and stronger team alignment. Ms. Criminceanu’s story highlights how an engaging, well-facilitated learning journey can reshape workplace dynamics, strengthen relationships, and deliver lasting value for individuals and teams alike.
"My participation in the NBM LearnOrgLab project was both eye-opening and impactful, with every session bringing its own “aha!” moments. At the beginning, my expectations were modest, yet I am deeply grateful for the wealth of knowledge, emotions, and experiences I was able to fully enjoy alongside wonderful people. This involvement has brought significant personal benefits, helping me develop new skills, broaden my understanding of diverse practices, and continuously improve. It has also had a positive influence on my professional work.
Participating in this project has provided me with invaluable insights and practical tools that have already improved my approach to collaboration, communication, and conflict resolution.
Although it is difficult to highlight a single activity, the most memorable session for me was the “Think-Pair-Share” (TPS) technique. This technique offers countless benefits, as it allows participants to first share a risky or new idea in a safe, one-on-one setting before presenting it to the larger group. During this exercise, maintaining eye contact helped increase the level of mutual understanding and trust.
The TPS technique allows individuals to develop critical thinking independently, negotiate collaboratively in pairs, and advocate effectively in groups—unlocking perspectives that are often overlooked in broader group discussions. It is a discovery; I would never have thought that this tool is so generous and has the potential to be used in various contexts with diverse teams. Using TPS has increased my awareness, and I feel more confident expressing myself in a team. It has reshaped the way I interact with my team – promoting inclusion, trust, and efficiency in our daily work.
Participating in this project has shown me that you can learn complicated and valuable things in a relaxed way. It also reinforced the fact that if you put the person, the team, and their development first, you will achieve great results for the organization. The facilitators played a crucial role by modeling techniques and creating safe space for practice, empowering the team to internalize and sustain the new behaviors independently.
I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be part of this project. Beyond acquiring new skills, I formed meaningful relationships with my colleagues. As a result, we developed a more resilient team culture and greater confidence in collaboration. In other words, a team that thinks together, aligns silently, and delivers visibly.
