About this learning event

This webinar series will explore how countries in the Western Balkans (WB) are progressing under Cluster 4 of the EU accession process, which focuses on the Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity (Chapters 14, 15, 21, and 27). The sessions will provide a practical overview of what is expected from countries in aligning national policies with EU standards in the areas of transport, energy, environment, and infrastructure.

Participants will gain insights into how these chapters support the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans (GAWB) through two thematic sessions:

Webinar 1: Sustainable Mobility and Connectivity in the WB will focus on Chapters 14 and 21, exploring how transport policy and trans-European networks contribute to sustainable mobility and regional connectivity.

Webinar 2: Energy Transition and Environmental Protection in the WB will address Chapters 15 and 27, highlighting the role of energy and environmental policy in achieving climate goals and safeguarding natural resources.

By bringing together public officials from relevant ministries, the webinars aim to foster peer learning, share practical experiences and good practices, and strengthen institutional cooperation for a greener and more integrated future in the region.

During the webinars, participants will:

  • Gain a practical understanding of EU accession requirements under Cluster 4, with a focus on Chapters 14, 15, 21, and 27.
  • Explore how transport, energy, environmental, and connectivity policies contribute to the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.
  • Exchange experiences and good practices on advancing sustainable mobility, energy transition, and environmental protection in the Western Balkans.
  • Strengthen peer learning and institutional cooperation among ministries and stakeholders working on green and sustainable development reforms.
