Advancing the Network of Regional Experts and Tutors in Accounting and Auditing
About this learning event
Building on three years of successful networking, this event brings together long‑term regional accounting and auditing experts and tutors engaged in certification programs across South East Europe. This year’s gathering continues the conversation initiated during our June webinar Public Sector Accounting and Auditing Reforms: What Works, What Doesn’t, What’s Next?, which attracted more than 100 participants and highlighted the need for deeper regional exchange on public sector accounting and auditing reforms.
The 2026 network meeting will explore the reform themes presented in the book Public Sector Financial Management in Central, Southern and Eastern Europe – Accounting, Reporting, Auditing and Control. The program will focus on the most pressing issues in public sector accounting and auditing reforms. To enrich the discussion, we will also explore two regional case studies:
- Montenegro: Closing Chapter 32 and implications for auditing reform and
- Türkiye: Aligning FMIS with accrual accounting and lessons for other economies
The event will provide a space for regional professionals to discuss reform challenges, share practical experiences, and co‑identify learning needs that support meaningful progress in their economies. Participants will also reflect on how to ensure the sustainability and quality of certification trainings in different country contexts.
This gathering supports the transition from a network of experts to a vibrant community of practice, strengthens regional collaboration, supports professional growth, and encourages lasting peer connections among accountants and auditors.
