Financing the Green Transition
About this learning event
Accelerating climate action in the Western Balkans requires more than strong policies—it demands robust, innovative, and accessible financing solutions. While significant progress has been made in advancing climate policy and regulatory frameworks across the region, securing the necessary financial resources for implementing the commitments under the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans (GAWB) remains a critical challenge.
The conference will convene public officials from ministries of finance and key line ministries. In addition, it will include private sector representatives, international organizations, and development partners. These stakeholders will explore concrete financing mechanisms that can enable successful GAWB implementation.
Strengthening collaboration between Western Balkan countries and key stakeholders is essential to bridge the financial gap and unlock the full potential of the GAWB. The conference will serve as a platform to engage in constructive dialogue on financing mechanisms and investment opportunities. From green bonds and blended finance to climate funds and public-private partnerships, the conference will spotlight tools that can turn policy ambition into implementable and impactful actions.
